According to Mark CARNEY, the UN’s special envoy for climate action, since COP 26 in 2021, funds explicitly committed to net zero two years ago in the financial system have jumped from $5 trillion to $130 trillion, which is 40% of the global Financial assets. He adds that we need an additional $2.5-3 trillion per year in additional funding to reduce emissions.
Last week, the French Development Agency (AFD) organized a magnificent event on climate change entitled “Strong Sustainability”. Speakers highlighted the need, opportunity and urgency of financing climate change. The financiers recalled that a lot of funds are there and are looking for good green projects. I really want to thank AFD for the invitation. I would like to invite those who are interested in this great event and climate change to watch the replays.
In accordance with our 2026 vision, in order to increase our ability to design projects; seek technical and financial partners; monitor and evaluate projects, we participated in this major event. We discussed with Experts, Financiers and Decision Makers. It was a useful event at a time when we plan to start a new phase of joint preparation of the project related to prevention, waste management and urbanization, a project inspired by the one of AFD’s calls for projects under FISONG 2022.
Thanks so much again to the French Development Agency (AFD) for the invitation at this great event!
